Glenmorangie’s vaults contain its extra-special bottled vintages. Once in a while, they release a limited number of these vintages in rare and highly collectible editions. We designed the identity for the highly valuable and extremely limited 1970s collection – presented in a decanter cabinet or ‘Tantalus’, and sold through specialist auctions.
We embraced traditional materials and production processes from the period, using waxed seals, heavyweight paper substrates and letterpress printing. We also collaborated with renowned designer Wouter Scheublin to develop the Tantalus; making sure that the colours, materials and finishes complimented the liquid and the era. The resulting work won at The Luxury Packaging Awards in 2016.
